Terms of Service

The short version: you own everything you make here, we only get the permission we need to run the product for you, and we never train anything on your work. Those are terms, not marketing.

1. Who you are agreeing with

MangaForge is operated by Mangaforge Pvt Ltd, registered in India. “We” and “us” mean that company. “You” means the person using the service. By creating an account or using MangaForge you agree to these terms.

2. What the service is

MangaForge is a tool for planning and drawing manga: a story canvas, a storyboard stage, and a drawing and page-layout editor. It does not generate artwork. Every mark on your page is one you made.

3. Beta

MangaForge is in beta. Features will change and some will be removed. We will not knowingly destroy your work, but you should keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose, as you would with any software in this stage. Export is available for that reason.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

5. Your work is yours

You retain full ownership of and all rights to everything you create, upload or import. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership of your work to us.

To run the product we need a narrow, practical permission: to store your work, transmit it between your devices, display it back to you, and share it with collaborators you invite. It is limited to operating the service for you, it is not exclusive, we earn nothing from it, and it ends when you delete the work or your account.

We will not publish, promote or show your work to anyone without asking you first and getting a clear yes.

6. We do not train on your work

We will not use your work to train, fine-tune, evaluate or benchmark any machine learning model, and we will not license, sell or otherwise provide it to any third party for that purpose. This applies to your artwork, your stories, your characters and your dialogue.

The one AI feature in the product sends the text of a scene you wrote to a third-party language model to suggest a shot list. It never sends your artwork, and it runs on a tier where the provider does not train on submitted content. This is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.

If we ever intend to change this, it would apply only to work created afterwards, only with your explicit opt-in, and we would tell you directly. We will not introduce it by quietly amending this page.

7. What you may not do

• Upload work you do not have the rights to.
• Upload material that is unlawful where you or we operate, including content that sexualises minors.
• Attack, overload or attempt to break the service, or work around its limits.
• Resell or redistribute access to the service.

We may suspend an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your work.

8. Paid plans

Some features may require payment. Prices, what is included, and billing intervals are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe or Pay.jp; we never see your card details. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Where the law in your country gives you a right to a refund, that right applies regardless of anything here.

9. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time. Export your work first, because deletion removes it from our systems. We may end this agreement if you materially breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and time to export.

10. No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and in beta you should expect that it will not be. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when. For any change that materially affects your rights, we will tell you directly and give you notice before it takes effect, rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
